I’m so excited to finally be able to show off the trailer for AVA, a dramatic series I’ve been editing for the past few months. Created by actress/writer/director Catherane Skillen, the series follows Ava, a woman who has it all… until she loses everything. The series is coming soon to YouTube! A couple of years ago I was walking around the old town in Folsom, California when I came across this great little museum with an amazing looking old blacksmith shop inside. I was excited when they agreed to allow me to create a promo for the shop! Let me know what you think!

This video is a web promo for the Sacramento office of World Relief. They help refugees in many overseas countries with aid and they also help some of them relocate to the U.S. Their local office in Sacramento asked me to help them make a video that they can show to local churches and other groups who would like to help. They wanted to keep it simple so I shot some interviews and b-roll with their employees and volunteers and added some graphics to fill in the rest of it. It's all shot on the Canon 5D.

I was in Rome for two weeks shooting a documentary and in my down time I was stumbling around on Philip Bloom's website when I came across this tutorial: http://philipbloom.net/2012/02/01/the-art-of-lens-whacking-real-lights-leaks-and-ones-done-in-post/. The technique sounds difficult, but it's really very simple and the results speak for themselves. I edited together this video from footage taken throughout one day and night.
